LADAKHI-BUDDHIST CULTURAL REGIONS

The region is
dominated by Buddhism (religion) and Ladakhi (language).
·
The region has
many monasteries and scared and cultural centers like Leh and Dharamshala. The
different features of this culture include:
1) These people practice Buddhist practice of
meditation in their daily life.
2) These people have
come more from Tibet and settled in their daily life.
3) They follow Dalai Lama as their Religious
and political head.
KASHMIRI-MUSLIM
CULTURAL REGION

This region covers the valley of Kashmir and
northern Jammu as well as some parts of ladakh.

The main
religion is Islam and the language is Kashmiri. Features of this culture
includes:
a) Majority of people of Kashmiri
practice Muslim religion and most of them are Sunnis.
b) Rice is staple foods of Kashmiri
c) In this region, main fruits are grown
like apples.
d) Kashmir has been noted for its fine
arts for centuries, including poetry and handicraft.
e) Kashmir’s are celebrated for their
beauty –fair complexion.
KINNAURI-DEV BHUMI CULTURAL REGION
This region comprises mountains Himachal
Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The religions places are

Kedarnath
·
Chintpurni(HP)
Features
of these peoples are:
· They speak Hindi language
· Hinduism is the prominent religion.
· Mostly they live in mountains or lower mountain
areas.
PUNJABI CULTURAL REGION

This region
covers Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Delhi. The majority population of Punjab
is Sikh religion who speaks gurumukhi language.

The region has
many gurudwaras including the Golden Temple at Amritsar and Anandpur Sahib.
Features are:

People of this
region are very entrepreneurs and prefer to work on their own than working for
someone else.

They prefer to
spend money on eatables, cars and dresses • they even do not afraid to bend the
rules.

They are very
active.

They like food
like dal roti,maki ki roti.
HINDU
CULTURAL REGION
·
This cultural
region is spread over Bihar, Haryana, UP, MP, Rajasthan, J&K, HP. Hinduism
is main religion and Hindi is its language.

The major language
spoken in this region includes Hindi, Punjabi, Haryanvi, and Urdu. Features of
people of this Cultural regions include:

They usually visit
to Temples on different occasions.

Ladies of this
region prefer to wear Saris of different fabrics.

Mughal
historical sites of such region include Taj Mahal, fatehpur Sekari. North-East
India Region
·
This region
spread over the North-east, this zone includes 7 states of India-Assam,
Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland.

The region has
great diversity in religions, languages, customs and folk traditions.
·
This region is
dominated by different tribes groups like Nagas, Khasi, Garo, Mishing.
BENGALI
CULTURAL REGION

Spread over West
Bengal and parts of Jharkhand, Bihar and orissa is dominated by Bengali
language. The other languages spoken in this region include Hindi, Bhojpori and
oriya. Feature of this culture include:

this region like to eat fish very much.

The people of
this region are very much interested in art and music.

People of this
region are very educated and have good writing and communication skills.
MARATHI-
GUJARATI HINDU CULTURAL REGION

This cultural
region stretches over Maharashtra, parts of Gujarat, Goa and some parts of
Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka as well. It is dominated by Hinduism(religion) and
Marathi(language) feature are:

This culture is
very much famous as boll wood and cricketers. • People of Gujarat and Mumbai control
most of India’s money.

This region
comparing tribal-Hindu mixed population. It is spread across Orrisa and
Chhattisgarh as well.

This zone which
has the maximum tribal concentration, from Chharttisgarh to Jharkhand and
Orrisa.

lying in this zone are the Santhals, Baiga, Muria, Munda and Birhor. This zone
are shows a greater impact of Hinduism.
DRAVIDA-CULTURAL
REGION

This region is
spread over the southern states of India like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh,
Telengana, Karnataka and Kerala.

The dominant
language are Tamil, Telgu, Kannada and Malayalam. The major cities of this
region include Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Trivandrum and Kochi. Features of
this region include:

Indian food like Dosas and Idly.

They are very
simple people.

They are very
loyal.

They are
vegetarian.
